WE ARE BIOS WEATHER
History of Thermor and BIOS Weather™
Reliable, Accurate, easy-to-read weather instruments built for Canadian conditions.
A Canadian Beginning
Building a Legacy in Canada
In 1914, Taylor expanded into Canada by establishing a sales branch in Toronto. In 1930, Taylor Instrument Companies of Canada Ltd. was incorporated, formalizing the company's Canadian operations. By the 1930s, the Toronto operation was producing household and medical products, including thermometers, barometers, and aneroid blood pressure instruments.
The Next Chapter
From Trusted Measurement to BIOS
In 1987, Thermor Ltd. purchased Taylor Instruments of Canada Ltd., ultimately leading to the creation of the BIOS brand. Over the following decades, Thermor Ltd. continued to provide high-quality measurement devices and to expand its weather product line. In 2003, Thermor Ltd. launched one of the first fully featured home weather stations for consumers. The product achieved considerable success across Europe, Australia, and North America, establishing the brand as a leader in consumer weather-monitoring solutions.
